The naturally rough surface is the perfect texture for smoothing away hard and dry areas leaving your skin feeling extra soft and smooth. Pumice is a type of volcanic rock that is formed when lava comes into contact with water. As soon as the lava touches the water it begins to cool rapidly and changes almost immediately to solid form with bubbles trapped inside which creates a porous rock.
